Investments: Collegiate Sports Enthusiast
Entrenched in a long time love of sports, especially
those Baylor Bears (Sic ‘Em Bears) Haddock
Investments and its CEO and Founder Gerald Haddock are proud to have
been a part of some of the most exclusive sports opportunities this past year.
WASHINGTON
D.C. (5/8/13) ---- Haddock Investments CEO Gerald
Haddock was pleased to be invited to the American Cancer Society- Mother of the
Year 2013 Award luncheon event held at the Ritz-Carlton in Washington D.C. honoring
Mrs. Tanya Synder.
Being
close friends with the Haddock’s for many years, Tanya and her husband Dan make
a continuing impact on the powerful Washington Redskins football team. Tanya
has been an vital part of furthering the team’s and NFL’s participation in
Breast Cancer awareness, being a survivor herself only makes her commitment to
this cause all the more touching.
An
auction was held during the luncheon solely benefiting the American Cancer
Society where many autographed memorabilia went to several members in
attendance including a game worn pair of pink cleats autographed and auctioned
off by Redskins quarterback, Heisman Trophy winner and former Baylor Bear
Robert Griffin III or RGIII. Seeing an opportunity to donate to a great cause
and garner another prized piece for the ever growing Baylor mementos
collection, Mr. Haddock would not be denied in earning these exclusive cleats.
Haddock
Investments was thrilled to be a part of this momentous occasion and could not
be more thrilled for this year’s Mother of the Year award winner Tanya Synder.
Baltimore
MD (12/13/2013) ---- Mr. Haddock is pleased to be a
member of the Board of the Golden Arm Foundation. This year’s winner was senior
quarterback AJ McCarron of the University of Alabama. This award is presented
annually to an outstanding collegiate quarterback that displays the merits and
raw talent of its namesake and founder of the award committee Mr. Johnny
Unitas. His son Johnny Unitas Jr. now manages the foundation and ensures its
long legacy in collegiate sports.
AJ
McCarron wrapped up his college career with the fourth-ranked Crimson Tide from
Alabama and still holds the Alabama record for throwing 30 touchdown passes in
his 2012 season. Being the most seasoned veteran McCarron lead the Crimson Tide
to bowl wins and title games in his 4 year career, his talent for maintaining a
solid offense lead to the decision for him to receive the ultimate prize out of
30 original candidates. He joins the likes of Andrew Luck now the starting
quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts, in previous winners of this prestigious
award.
The
ceremony featured an extensive photo op and time to converse with the seemingly
shocked McCarron and his family. The presentation heard from members of the
board as well as McCarron himself, clearly humbled by the award and his company
of recipients. Mr. Haddock enjoyed the reception and spent the afternoon with
the McCarron family noting that “They are very genuinely good people and a
pleasure to spend time with.” He received an autographed football and signed
sponsorship poster from the event.
